Internship Year
The categorical program in Anesthesiology begins with a
transitional internship, with clinical responsibilities at both Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York
Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College. The internship year provides an experience that is tailored to
future anesthesiologists. Rotations are structured in three-week blocks, including nine elective weeks encompassing
the Renal, Cardiac and Pulmonary sections at NYPH-WCMC and MSKCC. The remainder of the internship is comprised of
six weeks of General Medicine wards and three weeks of Emergency Medicine. Finally, the year is highlighted with
three weeks of anesthesiology, allowing interns to learn the basics of their profession aw well as become familiar
with the staff of the Department of Anesthesiology.
