Weill Medical College of Cornell University
Department of Psychiatry

Psychiatry will be on the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS) beginning September 1, 2006. Paper applications will no longer be accepted. ERAS uses the Internet to transmit residency applications, letters of recommendation (3 are required), Dean's letters, transcripts and other supporting credentials from medical schools to our residency program. You might want to include an additional letter dealing with any other aspect of your background such as research experience. Your ERAS application will be due in our office via the Internet by October 15th. We cannot arrange for an interview until we have all the requested documents. After careful review by the Department's Selection Committee highly selected applicants will be invited for formal interviews. Interviewing will begin in November and ends January 31st. We interview only on Monday and Tuesday. We do not interview the weeks of Christmas and New Year's.

Appointments to the first year residency are made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications are accepted from categorical candidates wishing to complete the full four year general psychiatry residency.
