PGY I Program Requirements:
- All clinical duties required by the assigned.
- Supervision and case conferences on all services.
- Attendance and participation in all curriculum activities.
- Attendance and participation in Grand Rounds and M&M Conferences - at the campus where the resident is based - Grand Rounds lunch at Payne Whitney-Westchester.
- PRITE exam.
- Appropriate licensing exams. New York State Medical license must be obtained by end of the PGY II year.
- Mini-boards (formal observed interviewing) 1 x year.
- BCLS / ACLS certification.
- On call duties.
- Interns' Meeting with Chief Residents
- Medical Student Teaching. All PGY I's on inpatient services will be paired with a third year medical student on their psychiatry rotation. They are responsible for teaching, reviewing cases, reviewing charts, etc.
- Daily work hour monitoring at NYPH. All other requirements for employment at NYPH, Risk Management, HIPAA, MRI Safety Training.
- Yearly mini-boards.
Evaluations:
Residents will be evaluated by supervisors, division chiefs, senior residents
and medical students. They will meet twice yearly with Director of Residency
Training to review these evaluations, results of PRITE examination, and mini-board
evaluation. Residents will be asked to evaluate their supervisors and division
chiefs, and course instructors. These evaluations will be processed through the
Residency Education Office. |
