PGY II Program Requirements:
- All clinical duties required by the assigned service and educational conferences required by those services. Supervision requirements and opportunities are determined by those services and subject to change.
- On call duties.
- Regular meetings with off-unit inpatient supervisors.
- In October-December, the resident will be expected to pick up one outpatient. Each resident will be assigned a date for presentation of this outpatient case. This presentation must be accompanied by a case write-up with complete assessment of the case and psychodynamic formulation. It is expected that by May-June, 2000, each resident will pick up a second outpatient.
- Attendance and participation in all curriculum activities.
- Attendance and
participation in Grand Rounds and M&M Conferences at PWC and WD.
- E-group
- PRITE exam.
- Appropriate licensing exams. New York State medical license must be obtained by the end of your PGY II year.
- Mini-boards (formal observed interviewing) 1 x year.
- Psychotherapy skills test (when given).
- ECT certification.
- Medical Student
Teaching. (Program Director: J. Polan, MD, Medical Student Clerkship Director).
All
PGY II’s on inpatient services will be paired with a third year medical
student on their psychiatry rotation. They are responsible for meeting
with this student for teaching, reviewing cases, reviewing charts, etc.
- Daily work hour monitoring at NYPH. All requirements for employment at NYPH.
Evaluation:
Residents will be evaluated by supervisors, division chiefs, senior residents
and medical students. They will meet twice yearly with Director of Residency
Training to review these evaluations, results of PRITE examination and mini-board
evaluation. Residents will be asked to evaluate their supervisors and division
chiefs, and course instructors. These evaluations will be processed through the
Residency Education Office.
