Requirements for all PGY IV Residents:
- All assigned clinical and administrative duties.
- Attendance and participation in block time curriculum activities, case conferences and supervision.
- PRITE exam.
- Psychotherapy Skills Test
- Mini-boards (formal observed interviewing) 1 x year
- Medical student
education: During assistant unit chiefship, PGY IVís are expected to
provide weekly teaching, rounds and discussions. In addition, every PGY
IV resident
participates in teaching medical students in one of their
pre-clinical courses. Alternate proposals for participation in medical
student education
program will be considered. (Program Director: Dr. J. Polan)
- Maintenance of patient log and patient charts.
- Graduation Paper: every PGY IV resident is responsible for writing a graduation paper which will be presented to the faculty and resident group during Journal Club time in the Spring. (Program Director: Dr. Leon) Graduation paper should be written and handed in by May 15, 2006.
- Daily work hour monitoring at NYPH. All requirements for employment at NYPH.
Evaluation:
Residents will be evaluated by supervisors, division chiefs, senior residents
and medical students. They will meet twice yearly with Director of Residency
Training to review these evaluations, results of PRITE examination and mini
board evaluations. Residents will be asked to evaluate their supervisors
and division chiefs, and course instructors. These evaluations will be processed
through the Education Office.
