MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Department of
Dermatology is tripartite, involving patient care, education, and the advancement of knowledge.
First, it is our responsibility to provide world-class medical and surgical dermatologic care
for our patients. More than any other reason, this is why we are here. Secondly,
we strive to provide training and education to our residents, medical students, and
the wider medical community that is second to none. Thirdly, we seek to conduct
basic and clinical research of the highest quality in dermatologic science and
allied fields. The goal of our scientific endeavors is to further the
understanding of the physiology of the skin, its relation to other organ
systems of the body and, most especially, promote and allow for new approaches
to the treatment of disease.
