Caregivers Lecture (Feb. 23)—"Long Term Care Insurance: Is it for Me?" is the topic of a lecture to be given by Vivian Gallo, CLU, and Robin Badanes, CFP.  The lecture will be held from 6:30 to 8 pm in A-250. Reservations are required. Please call 746-4351 for more information. 


2nd International Conference on Screening for Lung Cancer (Feb. 25-27)—The 2nd International Conference, hosted by Weill-Cornell’s Department of Radiology, takes place February 25-27 (Friday-Sunday). Plenary sessions will be in Uris Auditorium. No registration fee. For program information, call the Division of Chest Imaging at 746-2529.


Dr. Pardes to Speak at R.U.’s Cohn Forum on Health Affairs (March 6)—Dr. Herbert Pardes, President and CEO of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, will be the guest speaker at Rockefeller University’s Zanvil A. Cohn Forum on Health Affairs on Monday, March 6. Dr. Pardes’ topic will be "Toward a Sound Policy on Academic Medicine and Medical Research." A reception beginning at 5:00 pm will precede the lecture, which begins at 5:30 pm. Place: R.U.’s Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Dining Room (York Ave. and 66th St.). Admission is free. All are welcome.


Volunteers Needed for Chronic Pain Study—Investigators in the Department of Anesthesiology are conducting a study of a new system for giving intrathecal morphine to patients with chronic, intractable pain. Volunteers, age 18-75, who are eligible for a therapeutic trial of intrathecal morphine, may be eligible to receive this therapy using a new intraspinal low profile delivery system (approved for clinical trials by the Food and Drug Administration). Flu Shots for Employees—Employees at New York Weill Cornell Center may receive flu shots at the Occupational Health Service, Stich Medical Building (1315 York Ave.), mezzanine level, on an express basis and without an appointment Monday through Friday from 8 - 11:30 am, and Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1 - 4 pm, through Feb. 25th.
