BULLETINS

OSHA In-Service Training (Dec. 16)—An educational session will be offered as part of the continuing in-service training on Health and Safety regulations on the Medical College’s Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Plan from 2 to 4 pm in A-950.  Participation in one OSHA session per year is mandatory under Federal (OSHA) regulations for all laboratory workers, including graduate students, medical students and postdoctoral fellows as well as their faculty supervisors, who work with chemicals or with human blood as well as other potentially infectious materials.

Humanities and Medicine Presentation (Jan. 5)—The Humanities and Medicine Series presents "The Spirit Behind the Spirituals," an evening of music that explores the evolution of the spiritual, featuring folksinger and storyteller Calvin Earl.  The program will be held at 6:30 pm in Weill Auditorium, to be preceded by a holiday reception on Archbold Commons at 5:30.  Please contact Debra Gillers, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Registrar, at 746-1050 for further information.

Doctors Coatroom/Lounge Reopens—The Doctors Coatroom/Lounge at New York Weill Cornell has been renovated and upgraded with new services, including several computer workstations from which attending physicians can access patient medical records and view diagnostic images at the PACS workstation. The Office of Organizational Learning of the Hospital’s Human Resources Department will be available on a scheduled basis to orient physicians to hospital-supported computer applications, including Eclipsys, CISyphus, Imnet EPRS, PACS, and Infonet (Intranet).  Staff of the Weill Cornell Medical Library will also be available to orient physicians to use of electronic resources.  The training-session schedule is posted in the room. If posted times are not convenient, physicians may request alternate times on a sign-up sheet or by calling the Office of Organizational Learning at 746-1429.  Comments or questions about the training sessions should go to Kathy Ralph at 746-1206. Other questions regarding the Doctors Coatroom/Lounge should be directed to Brenda Sauer at 746-4630.
