CESAR A. PERALES NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR COMMUNITY HEALTH
DEVELOPMENT AND GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS AT NEW YORK PRESBYTERIAN HOSPITAL
New York, NY (May 1999)--Cesar A. Perales, former Deputy Mayor of New
York City, has been named Senior Vice President for Community Health Development
and Government Affairs for New York Presbyterian Hospital.
In this capacity, he is responsible for the development of government
and community affairs for the Hospital. Mr. Perales is also responsible
for creating and implementing the Hospital’s community healthcare strategy
by identifying sites to establish primary care facilities, organizing community
physicians, seeking partnerships with community based organizations and
developing community health improvement initiatives. He will continue
to serve as President of the Ambulatory Care Network Corporation (ACNC)
Board of Directors, whose responsibilities will include monitoring the
Hospital’s progress in achieving community health goals.
Mr. Perales was recruited to Presbyterian Hospital in 1994 to lead the
development of a community healthcare system designed to serve the residents
of Washington Heights and Inwood. Prior to his service as Deputy
Mayor under Mayor David Dinkins, he served as New York State Commissioner
of Social Services under Governor Mario Cuomo.
Mr. Perales obtained his undergraduate degree from The City College
of New York, and a law degree from Fordham University.
