Welcome to Cornell University Medical College's Department
of Obstetrics and Gynecology Homepage. We are proud to
offer a faculty of 27 physicians dedicated to Women's Health.
Please take a moment to meet our physicians and familiarize yourself with
the services we offer, including primary and specialty centers of excellence.
The educational
objective of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is to train excellent clinicians
in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology. Education and training is at the undergraduate
and graduate levels.
Medical School - At the
undergraduate level, second year Cornell medical students are introduced to the specialty
as part of the Physical Diagnosis component of the "Medicine, Patients, and Society II"
course. The third year Clinical Clerkship in Obstetrics and Gynecology combines theoretical
instruction with clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology. The Department
also offers a full program of four-year electives that are open to students from
other medical schools as well. For additional information, e-mail Cornell
University Weill Medical School admissions.
Residency Training - Upon completion of the residency training
program in obstetrics and gynecology, the physician will be well-equipped to enter the private
practice of obstetrics and gynecology, both as a primary care physician and as a consultant.
We also prepare and encourage those interested in further subspecialty training to pursue a
full time academic career through the program's broad exposure to all the clinical and
research activities of the various subspecialties.
Fellowships - The Department also offers approved Fellowships leading to subspecialty certification in the following areas:
- Maternal-Fetal Medicine
- Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
