Department of Psychiatry

IPRT services assist individuals recovering from mental illness to make informed choices and personal plans for community integration. Educational and personal development strategies are used to develop skills and resources needed for successful performance in work, education, social and living environments.

IPRT staff work closely with New York Presbyterian Hospital Outpatient Department clinicians, other practitioners and managed care organizations who are responsible for psychotherapy, medication, and case management.

IPRT is intended for individuals with:

  • Diagnosed mental illness and related dysfunction
  • Stabilized and well-managed symptoms
  • Motivation to pursue personal goals involving change in roles and responsibilities

SERVICES

  • Assessment of readiness, personal abilities, community resources and barriers
  • Individualized, goal-oriented service plan
  • Skill and resource development, including a planned curriculum of learning experience and practical applications
  • Aftercare and continued support

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

Insurance plans that are accepted include Medicaid, private insurance, some HMOs and managed care organizations, and self-payment.
